Dustin Mercado, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Doctor of Physical Therapy

Dustin’s journey to becoming a clinician began as a personal trainer in NYC. Throughout his time helping people improve their general fitness, developing energy systems, and performance, he realized that he also wanted to help and see individuals throughout the entire rehab spectrum— helping people go from acute/chronic injury to resilient, robust human beings. He finds great joy in proving to people just how strong and resilient they are and can be.

As a patient-centered healthcare professional, he understands the value and impact he can provide for his patients; however, he also places just as much significance in the value that each patient brings to him. He believes rehab and performance should be a collaborative effort between patient and clinician, and seeks to consistently involve the patient in the decision making process regarding their plan of care.

Dustin believes mental well-being is just as important as the physical. Difficult situations involving his loved ones helped him develop a keen awareness of mental health, and he prioritizes the mental well-being of the individuals he works with just as much as their physical health.

He embodies the mindset of always being a student of the game. He is constantly seeking to update his framework and “toolkit” as he has made an effort to take multiple courses and learn from some of the best clinicians and health and fitness professionals in the industry, and doesn’t plan to stop anytime soon.

In his free time, Dustin loves to just enjoy life— whether it be relaxing with his wife, balling up with friends, going on hikes with his two dogs, watching anime or stand-up comedy, or simply grabbing some good food (he’s a big foodie)— he truly appreciates good company and creating great memories. Be sure to let him know about any good food recs when you get the chance!
